Volunteer
So You Are Interested In Becoming A Volunteer With The Office Of Emergency Management...
The Office of Emergency Management maintains a cadre of volunteer staff to respond to requests for service throughout Laclede County. The Office of Emergency Management supports other agencies through training opportunities and through responses. Our volunteers are trained in specialized areas and functions. Some of our volunteers serve on the Mobile Command Post, which assists all Laclede County Public Safety Agencies during complex incidents. Others serve as Weatherspotters, providing the necessary warning to save lives during severe weather events. Some even specialize in Hazardous Materials Response. Even more personnel make up our communications and logistics components, which work both out of the Emergency Operations Center, and in the field. Our staff is widely diverse, consisting of students, retired persons, lawyers, emergency response professionals, factory workers, and many more! A volunteer career with the Office of Emergency Management is a rewarding experience, and has multiple opportunities for finding a career in the emergency services field.
